Tints of Nature has filled me with great hopes for finally finding a cruelty-free hair dye that could be easily applied at home. It looks promising, but I had to ask the brand some questions and find out the details. Let’s dive in.

The Tints of Nature products and ingredients used are not tested on animals by the brand itself and they say they would never allow third party to do so on their behalf.
What about the suppliers?
“Yes, of course we ensure where possible that our suppliers do not test on animals”
We needed more explanation on the “where possible” part which is where we’re told ingredients are only sourced from suppliers which adhere to the cruelty free policy
… As the manufacturer of products and all related corporations (if any) must satisfy one of the following criteria:
The never tested rule
None of its products and none of its product ingredients have ever been tested on animals by it, by anyone on its behalf, by its suppliers or anyone on their behalfThe five year (or +) rolling rule
None of its products and none of its product ingredients have been tested on animals by it, by anyone on its behalf, by its suppliers or anyone on their behalf at any time within a period of five years immediately preceding the date of application for accreditation.Please note that Herb UK products have never been tested on animals and all ingredients qualify for the “The five year (or +) rolling rule.
Furthermore, Herb UK raw materials now qualify for a minimum of a ten year rolling rule, whereby Herb UK have adhered to an internal “fixed cut-off date” rule by not allowing animal testing for any of its finished products, ingredients or formulations for a minimum of ten years.
As such, any products manufactured by Herb UK after this 10 year period will be sourced from entirely cruelty free suppliers. When I said ‘where possible’, I meant that any products which may be in circulation which were manufactured before this period, I cannot confirm the supplier information for. However, please bear in mind that it would be very unlikely for you to find a product over 10 years old available to purchase
All products are vegan and not sold in China or any other countries that require animal testing.
